I know, I know, you're supposed to post your transformations on Tuesdays. It sounds much cuter! But I'm going to go ahead and do it now cause I'm so excited about our new floor!
Here is our master bedroom "before" with old dirty blue wallpaper and old dirty blue carpet. Lovely!

A while back we ripped down the old wallpaper, patched the walls, and painted three walls in a warm cream color ("Desert Fortress") and an accent wall in "Milk Chocolate." Yummy!
Last week we decided to pull up the old carpet. Guess what we found - a beautiful hardwood floor! We were so thrilled! It's in great shape too! I think we will only need to do some minor touch-ups on it! I think it makes such a difference in the room; it really warms it up!

So what do you do with a beautiful hardwood floor? Put a beautiful rug over it, of course!

(Everytime I tried to get a picture of the rug, these two characters managed to steal the spotlight. I seriously have about 20 pictures of them making faces in front of the rug! Too bad they're so camera shy, huh? )

Okay, here's the rug. After being very "responsible" and "grown-up" with our tax refund (paying off a credit card, buying tires for the van, fixing rain gutters, etc.), this was our one "fun" puchase.

So here is the master bedroom so far! It's a work in progress...but I think it looks a lot better than it did! We could still use some new curtains, maybe a headboard and nightstands, and some wall art above the bed...

Now if only we could do something about our "dresser."

Love the floor!(love the camra shy kids too!)Be brave do the dining room too. Oh, oh, oh and maybe the entry way, not the whole living room, just the entry. That would look really good!
The room looks great! The hardwood is beautiful! I love the rug too and the bedspread. How fun to do a whole transformation! YOu guys are so resourceful!
I love the hardwood floor, it's amazing what a difference changing the floor and paint in a room can do. I also got a kick out of your dresser! Don't you hate having to be "responsible" and "grown-up?"
Oh my gosh, Summer! That's like winning the lottery! (almost) I'd probably go ripping up the carpet in the whole house!
I love the look of your room now. The rug is so pretty. I'm glad that you bought at least one fun thing with your tax refund!
We have a similar "dresser".:) Someday, right? Great job on your transformation. It looks great. One thing can definitely lead to another!
