Hannah's Birthday Party

Hannah is a BIG fan of Mickey and the gang! The darling shirt from Nana and Papa says it all!
Hannah's Minnie Mouse cake.

I love this picture of Hannah opening her present from Nana and Papa! My mom's expression is priceless - watching Hannah's face, hoping that she likes it. (My mom had a traumatic experience with an unappreciated birthday gift when she was a child. It has scarred her for life!)
Minnie AND Daisy!!! Hannah loves them! (Immediately after this, Hannah looked in the bag again and said, "Donald?" Apparently she thought she was getting the whole gang!)Thank you, Nana and Papa!
Hannah lined up her new friends with her brothers' Mickeys. Then she laid down on her tummy with her face in her hands and just stared at them. She is such a girl; I love it!

I'm Cozy!

Hannah, you sure warmed my heart today! Thanks for making me feel cozy too!
I walked into my bedroom today to find Hannah in my bed, under the covers in with her BFF's.

Me: "Hannah, whatcha doin'?"

Hannah: "I'm cozy! Minnie... Daisy... Mouse! Cozy bed!"

Half-Bathroom Decor

I am WAY behind on my blogging, but I wanted to quickly post these pics of our tiny half bath, mostly for my mom to see how my little shelf project turned out. I needed to decorate around the laundry chute door in the wall, so this is what I came up with.
The white shelves were from Jo-Ann's in a set of three (1', 2', & 3'). With a 50% off coupon, they were $25. I bought the little china plates at a thrift store for Thanksgiving (I think they were 25 cents each), so I already had them. The little glass vases were from the dollar store. Orchids were from the clearance shelf at Pier 1 for $3.00 total. I don't think they are too fakey looking (I'm pretty picky about my fake flowers). The pebble filler was also from Pier 1 for $3.50.I LOVE these little iron birds at Arhaus and wanted them both for my shelves, but didn't want to spend $24 each. After a lot of searching, I found my iron bird at Target for $7. It's a little bigger than the Arhaus birds, so I only needed one. I already had the books. Here's a little shot of the rest of the bathroom (I told you it was tiny). I am SO kicking myself for not taking a "before" picture this room when we moved in! Imagine if you can, CRAZY busy floral wallpaper on all the walls (with MAUVE vinyl blinds to match!), old linoleum on the floor, and a tiny little medicine cabinet. We tiled the floor, added bead board, painted, and replaced the mirror and light fixtures. We are really happy with how this turned out. Even though it is small, it looks bright and clean and reminds me of springtime - Just what I need right now!

Andrew's Baptism

February 14th was a very special day this year - Valentine's Day, Hannah's 2nd Birthday, and Andrew's Baptism Day! Andrew was baptized and confirmed by his dad, Bryan. We had a very nice program of talks and a musical number. Andrew's Papa gave a great talk about the Holy Ghost.

Andrew was able to be baptized on the same day as his best friend, Noah. Those two have done almost everything together these last few years!
The Fam

After the baptism, we enjoyed a dinner of soups, rolls, and cookies. So many friends, family, and ward members came to support Andrew and Noah. We were especially lucky to have Nana and Papa come from Utah! They gave Andrew his very own set of GREEN scriptures and case. (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

We are so proud of you, Andrew! You are knowledgeable about the Gospel, have a testimony, and have truly chosen to follow the Savior in this very important step! We love you!

Cooking with Bryan

If you haven't tried this cell phone recipe, you need to try it. It's great!

SAVORY CELLPHONE AND RICE CASSEROLE
(Best for cell phones that have been dropped in the toilet or sink)

Ingredients:
Wet Cell Phone
3-5 Cups dried rice

Directions: Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees (or 350 if you're feeling daring). Place rice in small (approx 5x7 inch) baking pan or dish. Immerse opened cell phone into dried rice so it is covered on all sides (make sure battery is removed). Bake for approximately 5-10 minutes, then turn oven off and allow to cool in heated oven for 2-3 hours. This may need to be repeated two or three times. Phone is done once phone is dry and has reached room temperature. Replace battery and enjoy (but don't eat your cell phone)!

***Note: Results may vary depending on how wet the phone is/was. Also, this recipe may or may not work for cell phones that have been inadvertently dropped outside in the snow, left overnight, run through the auger of a two-cycle snow blower, and subsequently shot 15 feet across the driveway (but we'll keep you posted).

My Daily Dose of Affirmation

Logan: "Mom, do you know why I always do love you?"

Me: "Why?"

Logan: "Because you always do look very cute."

Me: "Oh, thanks, Logan!"

Logan: "Uh-huh. And sometimes you wear a ponytail."

Me: "Do I still look cute with a ponytail?"

Logan: "Yeah. I always will love you!" (pause) "And you know when I stop loving you?"

Me: "When?"

Logan: "On...um...Saturdays."

Me: "Oh yeah? How 'come?"

Logan: "Cause that's the day you tormenize me."

Me: "TORMENIZE?"

Logan: "Yeah, that means that you beat me at games." (pause) "But I will always love you."
